We all like to start new years resolutions. Most of them health focused, be it to lose weight, get fit, stick to a diet… sound familiar? However we know that these goals are rarely achieved and we often quit just a couple months in. So here are our 5 top tips to help you set the right goals… and actually achieve them!
Micro Missions
We often get caught up in the big ideal and focus so heavily on the end result, that we actually end up getting overwhelmed and daunted that we just give up all together. Instead, set micro missions, baby steps, mini goals every single day that will eventually get you to that desired end result.
Find What Works for You!
Instead of hearing the latest diet craze and just jumping on the bandwagon, think about you and your body. We all work differently, and what works for some may not work for others. Learn from what hasn’t worked in the past and become more in tune with you!
Stick With It
If your goal is to
lose weight, get strong or super fit, the process is long and sometimes frustrating. Although you may not be seeing results every single day, don’t get disheartened by this. Keep your head in the game and stick with it. Anything worth having never comes easy!
Consistency Pays Off
As they say, we are what we repeatedly do. Those CrossFit athletes didn’t just become champs overnight. They worked hard for hours on end to get to where they are now. Little by little, class by class, squat by squat, you will get there. Slow and steady always wins the race, right?
Although diets may seem tempting as a quick fix to lose those extra Christmas pounds, we all know that this is certainly not sustainable. Yes the weight may come off, but sooner or later it’ll creep back on if we don’t create realistic routines. Restriction is not the answer for
long term weight loss. Instead we must be sustainable and create habits that fit with out lifestyle, things that make us happy and aren’t too drastic. That way it’s not a diet that we end up resenting, rather it’s a lifestyle choice that we end up respecting!
